Wifaqa

Wifaqa is still being built. Signing up and writing your story are free while it is, and nothing can cost you anything until I say plainly that it does. Introductions and payments open soon.

Safety

What keeps it safe.

The rules the service follows, and the one thing it cannot do for you. Most of them apply once introductions open.

Adults who are who they say

Before anyone can be introduced, they complete a hosted identity check with a document, a selfie and a liveness check. Age is taken from the verified date of birth, and only adults are ever introduced.

Nobody on display

There is nothing to browse and no public profile. Strangers cannot message you, and you cannot message them. Photos are optional, and are shown only after both people agree.

A wali is present

Every woman has a wali, or another trusted Muslim adult she names, in the conversation before it opens. They can read all of it whenever they like. Nobody is watching live, and I will never say otherwise.

Words only

A conversation is text. There is no way to send pictures or files, and there are no voice or video calls.

Report, block and leave

You can report or block anyone you are introduced to, privately. If two different members report or block the same person, that account stops taking part straight away until I have read what happened.

A declined, closed or blocked introduction is never made again, even if someone deletes their account and signs up again. You can pause new introductions, or delete your account yourself, at any time.

What no website can promise

No system can promise that everyone is honest. Take your time, involve your family in the way you would anywhere else, never send money to someone you have been introduced to, and tell me about anything that feels wrong. I read every report myself.
